Words like furniture, advice, information, luggage, baggage, poetry, scenery, work, machinery never take plural 's/es' and always take singular verbs. (Say pieces of furniture, NOT furnitures).
For Either...or, Neither...nor, and Not only...but also, the verb always agrees with the nearest subject. Ensure parallel grammatical structure (Noun with Noun, Verb with Verb).
Formula: Either/Neither/Each/None/One + OF + Plural Noun/Pronoun + Singular Verb.
Example: Neither of the two books is (not are) good.
Normal/Good action: Second Person (You) + Third Person (He/She) + First Person (I) → 231.
Confession of guilt, mistake, or plural subjects: 123 (I, you, and he).
When two subjects are joined by with, along with, together with, as well as, in addition to, accompanied by, the verb agrees with the first subject.
